Stampin’ Up! Epic Day Bird Card

Hi, I’m back from a trip to the cinema with hubby and the kids; we went to see “epic” and had a grand time! I was worried about how it would turn out, as all I’d seen of it was a couple of slugs… and I can’t stand slugs… But it was a nice story, and as we watched “epic” I thought it only fitting to make an eponymous card to celebrate the day :)

So more Epic Day Designer Series Paper it was.  I cut some strips into banners (tip: if you don’t have a square punch, just snip up the middle with scissors, then cut in to meet it!) and layered them up with a Pool Party Cardstock banner for contrast, adhering them all flat on a card blank of Naturals White paper.  This is a heavier version of Whisper White, great for bases and 3D work! The I raided my scraps box: a smidgen more Epic Day for the green spots and the bird’s wing, and some Basic Gray for the bird itself.  Finally, I gathered a little Pool Party seam binding and added it for texture, and stuck the top layer (bird and green strip) down with Stampin’ Dimensionals. And there you have it, a unisex card, which I actually ended up using for my brother’s birthday tomorrow! I hope that this inspired you to rummage through your scraps and see what you can make – if you play along do post a link for us all to see :) Thanks for stopping by, Leanne x
